from Haneda Airport
Everything you need to know about arriving at Haneda — quarantine, immigration, baggage and customs, how long each step really takes, and exactly where your driver will be waiting.
Reserve Your TransferYour arrival, step by step
Nearly all international flights arrive at Terminal 3. From the jet bridge to the arrivals lobby, here is exactly what happens — and how long each stage typically takes.
Follow the multilingual Arrivals signage from your gate. For most travelers the health screening is a simple walkthrough — no queue, no paperwork.
Passport check with fingerprints and a facial photo. With a Visit Japan Web QR code you can use the Joint Kiosk and e-gates, which handle immigration and customs in one stop. During peak windows queues can stretch to 60–90 minutes.
Check the overhead screens for your carousel number. Free luggage carts are available right at the belt.
Green channel if you have nothing to declare. With Visit Japan Web, scan your passport and QR code at the electronic gate — usually just 2–5 minutes.
Exit into the 2F arrivals lobby of Terminal 3. Your driver is already there, holding a name board — they’ve been tracking your flight since before you landed, so take the time you need.
Step times are estimates based on official airport guidance and recent traveler reports; actual times vary by flight schedule and season.
How long will it take?
From touchdown to the arrivals lobby. Times vary with flight schedules and season — these are realistic planning ranges.
Five minutes of prep, an hour saved
The single biggest factor in how fast you clear the airport is whether you arrive with a Visit Japan Web QR code.

Register with Visit Japan WebJapan’s free government service for entry procedures. Register at services.digital.go.jp — it takes about 15 minutes. No app required.
-
02
Complete both sectionsFill in the immigration section and the customs section. The customs part is the one most travelers miss — without it you’ll still be handed a paper form on arrival.
-
03
One QR code per personEvery traveler needs their own QR code, including infants and children.
-
04
Screenshot your QR codes before boardingThe codes work offline, so save them to your camera roll. Airport Wi-Fi on arrival can be slow.

Use the Joint Kiosk at Terminal 3Haneda’s Joint Kiosk machines combine immigration and customs into a single stop: scan your passport, scan your QR code, pass facial recognition, and you’re through.
Where to meet your driver
Your driver stands in the arrivals lobby with your name displayed. Arrive, clear customs, and walk toward the name board.
Terminal 2 (ANA international): meet your driver at the 2F Arrivals, past the customs exit — same process as T3, typically quieter.
Domestic arrivals (Terminals 1 & 2): your driver waits at the 1F Arrivals Lobby, past the gate exit.
Look for the name board
As you exit through the arrival doors, your driver will be standing directly in your path holding a board with your name on it. No apps to check, no pickup zones to find — just walk toward your name.
