Below is a sample itinerary of our One-Day Mt. Fuji Tour during Autumn season (10h). We organize each tour based on our customer’s interests and preferences, as well as the weather and the season. Please feel free to let us know what you like and we will customize tour plan just for you!

●7:00 Leaving the hotel: Your driver will come to your hotel to pick you up.

8:30 AM – Arrival at Yamanakako Panorama Dai

 

Start the tour with breathtaking views of Mount Fuji from Yamanakako Panorama Dai, one of the best viewpoints around Lake Yamanaka. Experience the beauty of the snow-capped mountain and the surrounding natural landscapes, which are especially picturesque in winter.

9:00 Shore of Lake Yamanakako

After enjoying the panoramic view of Mt. Fuji, you can go down to the shore of Lake Yamanakako, where wild birds such as swans, ducks are staying during winter time. If you are lucky enough, you’ll probably have chance to feed them too. Don’t forget to bring some pieces of bread too!

10:00 Kitaguchi Sengen Shrine

This small shrine situated at the bottom of Mt. Fuji is another popular tourist destination in the area. The god of the shrine is Mt. Fuji itself, and people come to the shrine and pray for their good luck, safety of the trip, etc., typically before climbing the mountain. 

Key Features:

 

Historical Significance:

Founded over 1,900 years ago, the shrine was a starting point for ancient pilgrims who climbed Mount Fuji as part of religious rituals. It remains a key site for worship of Mount Fuji’s deity, Konohanasakuya-hime.

Main Shrine Buildings:

The shrine complex includes several beautifully preserved structures, such as the Main Hall (Honden)Worship Hall (Haiden), and the Tower Gate (Romon), all showcasing traditional Japanese architecture.

Sacred Trees:

The shrine is surrounded by towering cedar trees, some of which are over 1,000 years old, adding to the mystical atmosphere of the grounds.

Cultural Importance:

●11:00 Kachi Kachi Ropeway by Lake Kawaguchi

Key Features:

From the observation deck at the top station, visitors can enjoy spectacular views of Mount Fuji, Lake Kawaguchi, and the surrounding countryside. On clear days, the view stretches for miles, making it a photographer’s dream.

Cultural Connection:

The ropeway is themed around the Japanese folktale “Kachi Kachi Yama” (The Crackling Mountain), a story involving a mischievous tanuki (raccoon dog) and a clever rabbit. Statues and decorations inspired by the tale can be found throughout the attraction, adding a playful touch to the experience.

Observation Deck:

The top station features a spacious deck, snack stalls, and seating areas where visitors can relax and take in the scenery. There’s also a “Bell of Tenjo” that couples ring for good luck and romance.

12:00 PM – Lake Kawaguchi (Kawaguchiko)

 

Drive to Lake Kawaguchi and enjoy a stroll along the lakeside. Visit Oishi Park for more scenic views and opportunities to capture the perfect photograph of Mount Fuji reflected in the lake.

1:00 PM – Lunch in Oshino Hakkai Village

 

Savor a traditional Japanese lunch at a local restaurant in Oshino Hakkai, a charming village with eight crystal-clear spring ponds fed by the snowmelt from Mount Fuji.

Optional: Explore the village, shop for souvenirs, or sample local treats.

 

2:30 PM – Hidden Spot, great view of Autumn leaves

Chureito Pagoda:

The combination of the red pagoda, Mount Fuji, and seasonal scenery (such as cherry blossoms in spring and vibrant leaves in autumn) makes this one of the most photographed locations in Japan. The viewpoint is accessible after climbing about 400 stairs.

Arakurayama Sengen Shrine Grounds:

The shrine itself, located near the base of the hill, is dedicated to the deity of Mount Fuji, Konohanasakuya-hime. It provides a serene and spiritual atmosphere.

You can also enjoy some street food at Oshino Hakkai. Grilled dango (sweet dumpling),  grilled chest nuts, fried fish cake, fresh fruits and ice cream, etc.

This area is colder than Tokyo or other big cities in Japan. If you are lucky, you’ll have chance to see/touch ice and snow around.

Proceed to Gotemba Premium Outlets, one of Japan’s largest shopping malls. Spend time shopping for luxury and local brands while enjoying magnificent views of Mount Fuji.

5:30 PM – Departure for Tokyo

 

After a fulfilling day, begin your return journey to Tokyo. Relax in the vehicle as you reflect on the day’s memorable experiences.

●16:30 Leaving Mt. Fuji: Time to say goodbye to Mt. Fuji and start heading back to Tokyo.

●18:00 Arriving at your hotel: Your driver will safely take you back to your accommodation.

 

*As it’s a little far from the central area of Tokyo, it is highly recommended to book “10h One-Day Tour” to visit Mt. Fuji area. 

Q&A

 

Q. When does the tour start and end?
– A. The tours start and end when the driver picks you up from your accommodation in Tokyo and drops you off at the end of the day. In the case of your accommodation being outside of Tokyo 23 Wards, your tour will start and end when the driver departs and arrives in Tokyo at the end of the day.
Q. What if there are several pickup/drop-off points?
 – A. That’s no problem as long as the tour finishes in time.  
Q. Can we cancel the tour when it rains for free?
  – A. You can cancel the tour without cancellation fee by the day before. We also check the weather forecast everyday and may suggest rescheduling the tour if the forecast isn’t good enough.
Q. Are there any extra fees if the pickup/finish time is  late at night/ early morning?
  – A. There will be no extra fee depending on the pickup/finishing time of the tour.
 
Q. Can our pets also join the tour?
 – A. Sure, but please keep them in carrier bags/ travel crates.  
Q. What does the price include?
 – A. The price include toll fees, gas, parking lot fee, tax, etc. It doesn’t include fees for such as: lunch/food/beverage, entrance fee of tourist spots, fee of boats/cable cars, etc.
Q. What would the price be if we want to extend the tour?
 – A. The extension fee is 5,000yen/30 minutes.
Q. Will there be a refund if we finish the tour earlier than booked? 
 – A. There will be no refunds in case the tour finishes early. If the tour will finish earlier due to accidents, natural disaster, sudden sickness, etc., please contact us and we can discuss about it.
